Triumphal Procession

2 Corinthians 2:14, “but thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession.”

God in Christ does not just lead us in the act of coming forth from the source. That view is true, but it allows Christians to view God as a one time occasion, leaving them to be susceptible to becoming stagnant in their walk or growth in God. This can lead those “Christians” to rely on their own strength for everything else. Not only that, but it allows Christians to not experience the fullness of God’s promises. Instead, God leads us TO GO continually in the act of coming forth from the source of Christ. The addition of the words “To go” is a subtle change, however, the implications are powerful. The statement becomes true, dynamic Christianity, which gains it’s power not from one’s own self, but continually from a reliance on the source.
